Ew. Nothing like home sweet home.
My question: with all the free time, what does one do with oneself? Mmm...travel for leisure and fun instead of work! Mmm...give back to community. Mmm...putter around?
It's okay to take OTC medication that has passed it's expiry date, right?
I've managed to book a standby ticket on CX departing to HKG on January 4, 2008. After a stop at LAX on Thursday, I've seen how imperative it is to travel light. The lines were long at the ticket counter, but more so at the baggage security check. So I've decided the following course of action: take nothing but essentials; NO luggage. Then BUY everything once in Hong Kong. This to include luggage bag(s) and a new digital camera. The return trip will be more of a hassle in terms of baggage check, but Hong Kong airport is ultra convenient (free wifi, free baggage trolleys, early baggage check-in, etc).
I'm such a pack rat though...I wonder if I can accomplish this?
Looking for tickets to Hong Kong in January, right after New Year. Following lead on RT tix for 900! Sounds too good to be true, especially if on Cathay Pacific (CX); will have to wait and see when Travel Agent contacts me. Was previously piecing a flight schedule together as I was hoping to get a long layover in JFK so I can play hooky in New York before having to get down to business. Best deal for that option on several connecting flights broke the budget.
Manager already asked when I wanted to take vacation; followed with the question - if I could go anywhere I wanted, where I would go? It's silly, but the first thing I thought of was the Monterey Bay Aquarium, followed by the giant redwoods. I need a balance of city and nature and so far, I'm all citied out. Maybe that's why I found the change of scenery in North Carolina so soothing. The Lins are classic wood elements (c'mon "twin wood" or "half of a forest" Lin?) and maybe it's my attempts to find my roots.
Hmm...I wonder if on this visit the weather will cooperate enough for me to explore some trails along the mountains of Kowloon? They've a nice temple that I'm always glimpsing at and have yet to visit.

Peak season holiday travel = patience required
#1 Read the fine print
#2 Listen when given directions
#3 Don't be afraid to be rude to get chatty travelers to stop chatting
#4 Pashmina = nice travel accessory
#5 Don't mix business with pleasure
My 3 hour rest was the most comfortable at Spring Hill Suites. Chalk it up to the ultra lightweight and warm down comforter (who needs the heater?) and an incredibly soft roomy bed.
For the love of Pete - I should not, under any circumstances, be allowed to leave the house in a rush. What was I thinking when I put this excuse of a wardrobe together this morning? My tighty whities are showing through at the top waist band of my low rise pants and my white button up blouse shrank in the dryer, which I tried to conceal by throwing on a sweater vest. A sweater vest.
I either need to (a) get low rise underwear or (b) stop buying low rise pants. STAT.
Tried out a recipe from Everyday Foods for fish tacos. Their have you tried? item was tilapia, which Y and I decided would make a good name for a cat. Cats are peculiar enough in order to see the humor behind named after a fish.
